J-PLUS Star formation rates
The J-PLUS survey covers the Hα + [NII] emission with its J0660 narrow-band filter, and the [OII] emission with its J0373 narrow-band filter. Vilella-Rojo+15 demonstrate that we can recover unbiased Hα fluxes with ~15% uncertainty using J-PLUS data. We probe that a SED-fitting method is needed, advising against traditional methods with two and three filters. In this work, the dust and [NII] corrections are based in relations from SDSS, and we are working in the inclusion of the [OII] line information in the analysis.

Figure 1 – Estimation of the Hα + [NII] flux with J-PLUS photometric data (Vilella-Rojo+15). Red asterisks: J-PLUS photometry estimated from a SDSS spectra (gray). Green dots: J-PLUS photometry after r decontamination. Magenta solid line: Hα continuum using only the broad-band r and the narrow-band J660. Cyan solid line: Hα continuum using the r, i, and J660 filters. Dashed line: Best-fitting template without r decontamination. Black solid line: Best-fitting template after r decontamination.
With the Hα fluxes from J-PLUS, the Hα luminosity function at z < 0.015 will be computed and the SFR density in the local Universe derived.
PHASE: Development phase.
